What happens to your details
Sergeant Pace is a hobby project, not a company product. This page says in plain words what it stores, who else sees it, and how to remove it.
- You enter body numbers and running details. They are kept for 14 days after you last use the app, and you can download or delete them at any time.
- What you type or say, and your numbers, are sent to Google's Gemini AI to write the sergeant's replies. Google's free tier lets Google use it to improve its products, and people at Google may read it.
- No accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies.
- This is a coaching demo, not medical advice.
Who is responsible
Ogün Gündogdu, a private individual in Stockholm, Sweden, runs this site as a personal project. To contact me, email hello@ogun.se.
What is collected, and for how long
| What | Why | Where it goes | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Age, weight, height, body fat, longest recent run and pace; run reports (how much you finished, effort, distance, time, and any note you type); weigh-ins; and the plan built from them | To build your training plan and set your safety limits | A file on my server, tied to a random id in your cookie. Not tied to your name, email or any account | Deleted after 14 days without use, or straight away when you press Reset recruit |
| What you type to the sergeant | To write replies | Sent to Google (see below). The running conversation is held in the server's memory only and is dropped when the server restarts or the conversation goes idle. Notes you attach to a run report are also saved in your file | As above |
| Your voice, if you use the microphone | To turn what you say into text | Sent to Google. Not saved on my server | Not kept by me |
| The sergeant's spoken replies | To play the replies aloud | The reply text is sent to Google, which returns audio. The audio is cached on my server so a repeated line is not paid for twice. It is not linked to you | Deleted after 14 days |
A cookie called sp_sid | To remember which file is yours | Your browser. It holds a random id and nothing else | 30 days. It is strictly necessary for the app to work, so there is no consent banner for it |
| Server logs: your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser type. Plus one short line per coach reply: a fragment of the random id, the model used, how long it took and which tools ran. Message text is not logged | To keep the site running, find faults and stop abuse. Your IP address is also used to limit how often one person can ask for replies | On my server | Rotated automatically by size, so only recent logs exist |
Health information and your consent
Weight, body fat, age and notes about pain or injury are health-related. Data protection law (GDPR) treats that as a special category, so I only use it with your explicit consent. You give that consent by ticking the box before you send the intake form. Nothing is sent from your browser before then. You can withdraw consent at any time by pressing Reset recruit, which deletes your file, and by not using the app.
This site currently uses the free tier of Google's Gemini API. Under Google's terms for that tier, Google uses the content submitted and the responses to provide, improve and develop its products, and human reviewers may read, annotate and process it. Google also asks people not to submit sensitive, confidential or personal information to the free tier. This site never sends your name, contact details or cookie to Google, but everything you type or say to the sergeant is sent, along with the numbers you enter. Please don't type your name, contact details or anything private.
Google may process this data in countries outside the EU and EEA, under Google's own terms. The server that runs the site is rented from OVHcloud, which therefore hosts the files described above.
Your rights
- See and download your data: open Training file in the app and choose Download my data, or open this link in the same browser.
- Delete it: open Training file and choose Reset recruit.
- Correct, restrict or object: report new numbers through the app, or email me.
- Complain: you can complain to the Swedish data protection authority, IMY.
There are no accounts, so I cannot tell whose file is whose. That means I can only act on the data in your own browser session, which is why the buttons above do the work.
Who it is for
Adults. It is not meant for children under 16.
